Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A Little Spot books by Diane Alber, is a unique series designed to teach children about emotions, social skills, and self-regulation. These engaging and colorful books will be used in my social skills class to help my students with autism develop both their literacy and emotional intelligence. By introducing topics like anger, anxiety, empathy, and happiness, these books provide an accessible, fun, and effective way for students to understand and manage their feelings.

The visual storytelling, along with simple language, will be an invaluable resource for building emotional vocabulary and fostering empathy among my students, creating a safe space for them to explore their emotions and social interactions.

The vivid illustrations and relatable scenarios will enabling my students to start to connect concepts of emotions to real-life situations. These books will help enhance my students emotional and cognitive development, setting them up for greater success both inside and outside the classroom.
