This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The A Little Spot series by Diana Alber is a unique collection of books that address crucial topics like friendship, emotions, holidays, life skills, and actions—each one serving as a foundation for my students to better understand and connect with the world around them. With vibrant illustrations and clear, easy-to-follow narratives, these books will help my students with autism explore their feelings, practice empathy, and develop social skills necessary for peer interactions, whether it’s learning to share during playtime or navigating the joy and challenges of holiday festivities.

From managing emotions like frustration and happiness to understanding the importance of actions like expressing gratitude and being a good friend, these books offer an enjoyable and impactful approach to social and emotional learning.

Being able to incorporate A Little Spot books into my lessons, will provide my students with a safe, accessible way to engage with key social and life skills concepts. It will also allow me to foster a more inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where my students can grow both academically and emotionally, learning to better understand friendship, holidays learning and life skills.
