My Students

Bright colored murals, beautiful garb, fresh fruits ​and vegetables at the corner market, and the smell of delicious Indian food coming from the nearby kitchen; this is the environment my students live in. We have a beautiful neighborhood that embodies the Indian culture. Unfortunately, my school is in a low-income neighborhood. Many of my students, a diverse mix of cultures too, attend a school that strives to give these eager students who are ready to learn, an excellent education. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are excited to begin school!

My Project

32 students means 32 different learners! In a class this large there is a lot of differentiated learning. Small group instruction and differentiated materials are a great way to make sure all levels of learners needs are being met. These intervention kits could make an excellent resource for my kiddos that may need that extra help and practice for a particular skill. Sequencing, main idea and theme are all skills that good readers look for to help them become better readers. These sets will be a great edition as a center for reteaching and or extra practice! Help all my learners practice good reading strategies!
