My Students

Imagine what it's like to be a kindergartener attending school for the first time! Each year I am greeted with a wonderful group of eager students who are thrilled to be going to school for the first time.

My students are a diverse group of learners, as I teach an ICT classroom with general education students and special needs students.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and they each come with their own special story. I can't wait to get to know them!

My Project

I would like to a build a diverse, rich classroom library with engaging storybooks that represent all of my students and our great city, New York.

Children need to see themselves and others represented in the books that we read at school and at home, especially those students from unrepresented cultures.

My project has a long list of highly recommended books that include diverse characters and authors. I cannot wait to read aloud these amazing books and to go on new adventures where, together, we learn about various cultures and families with my students.
