This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are asking for a Kindle Scribe for a lot of different things within the classroom. The first thing is digital textbooks. I have a couple classes, math classes, with digital textbooks and a handful of my students struggle with using it or accessing it. I can get it on my own personal Kindle reading device, but it is not a scribe. On the scribe the textbook is clearer, the graphics display like they would on an actual textbook, and overall navigating is easier, helping those students who struggle the most with using it.

Using it in the math classroom is awesome, but we can also use it for is our after school fiber arts club.

I have a lot of patterns and books for crochet and knitting on my kindle, but it is so small, and we cannot mark up the documents. Also, we have a lot of patterns. Having them all printed out has become overwhelming. A scribe would allow us clearer access, with its size, and would allow us to take notes and more.

Finally, I want to note that a Scribe is more ideal for our goals versus a tablet or iPad. It is what it is without games or filler. It will not be connected to the internet at the school either so that students only have access to what I place on it. We would like to have a few available, but for now, having one would help so much.
