My Project

My students have many questions about difficult topics, particularly in the world we live in now. I would like to have books available to read to children or lend to them that discuss these difficult topics. Reading is what holds my class together. A Kids Book About has the mission of helping kids and their grownups have honest conversations by making books about challenging, empowering, and important topics told by diverse authors who know that topic first-hand.

Help us explore difficult topics with books.

We need these mentor texts to help ground us in difficult conversations. With a variety of topics such as Juneteenth, pronouns, adopting a pet, and voting, these books will give my students access to more information. After reading the books, my students will be more confident in their choices.
