My Project

We have a few books from the "A Kid's Book About . . . " series and we really love them! It would be amazing to gather the whole collection and add them to our school's shared collection of Social Justice/Themed texts. These books are a wonderful way to discuss deep topics in an age-appropriate way. Teachers can check out individual titles to share with their students, or they can check out a whole bin on a related topic for students to peruse and use in book clubs.

The beautiful thing about these books is that they are written by those who represent and have lived the topic they are writing about.

This brings a whole new level of authenticity to these texts. There are books designed for our youngest learners as well as those that are aimed at older readers. Plus, they can be read to a whole range of ages by just reading the bold text, or the reader can choose to dive deeper. Furthermore, they are a wonderful catalyst for further researching a topic that students may have a deeper curiosity about.

We would love to add the whole "A Kids Book About" Series to our book room and would greatly appreciate your help in this endeavor! Thank you for supporting our learning and helping to broaden our worldview!
