Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a teacher, my goal is to allow students to fall in love with learning. I do this by being able to meet students where each student is in their education and support students intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Many of my students come from difficult backgrounds where education comes second or even last in their lives. I create a safe space for students where every child is welcome and is appreciated by understanding his/her worth and importance. Once a child feels safe, they can progress in his/her education. By removing my teacher desk in the classroom and replacing it with a kidney table, I am able to enlarge the learning space for my students. This table will allow me to meet with my students in small groups in order to focus on individualized needs while giving us the space to use scaffolds, manipulatives, and various supports to enhance their confidence when learning. This table would be a true blessing for my classroom. Thank you for your time!
