My Project

Our Middle School is in the heart of the Kashmere Gardens Community, the 2nd poorest zip code in Houston, TX. While our food service department serves a reimbursable meal daily, 64% of our students eat chips for lunch. These microwaves would help students who bring lunches from home (52%) have a place to warm their lunch. A warm lunch not only provides for emotional security, but it also fuels the brain and re-ignites readiness for learning. Help fuel our student's brains by providing a means for a hot desirable lunch!

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
