This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Kindness in Plants is working with the Bee Club to get a honey extractor for their hives. Over the past school year they started a Bee Hive with Italian bees. It was successful and this past October they had to borrow an extractor to get honey. This year they are hoping to have two extractions in July and October. We would love to do it with our own extractor. Our school is a larger urban/suburban school, not the first place you would expect to have bees.

Having the bees teaches kids about the importance of pollinators and their importance in our environment.

My club has helped by planting bee friendly plants and how to help them. This extractor is a pricey item but will be used for many years. We are grateful for any and all assistance.
