Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every staff in a school needs a printer! I am the School Counselor in my school and currently in need of a printer that can also copy and scan. There are many documents and information I like to provide for students. In order for me to print documents, I must find someone else's available computer that is connected to a printer, and it simply makes my job much more difficult. My office is also on the complete opposite far side of where our copy machine is located. When I meet with students, I like to keep copies of any documents I provide them with in order to reference back to them, or in case the student(s) has misplaced what I have given them. Having to go to the opposite side of the building to make a copy, is quite exhausting and not productive.

Building a home away from home is important for students!

As the sole School Counselor of the school, it is important to have a safe space for students. Providing a rug will give the space a zen, cozy space. This helps to build comfortability, a sense of home and in turn helps to build and continue rapport with them.

These two items will help me help my students. My students are all great, young adults always trying their best. Many are English Language Learners that come from a different country and they appreciate the small things very much!
