My Project

I am a speech teacher in a preK-8th grade equity-focused school. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and fostering a sense of belonging and community is essential to that success. Many of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, including students from neighboring shelters. Some of our students are unable to celebrate holidays due to limited financial resources. This holiday season, we want to create an opportunity for all of our students to come together, celebrate, and share in the joy of community by hosting a holiday themed festival.

A little kindness goes a long way!

The resources that I’m requesting will help my students spread kindness by giving out care packages filled with snacks and decorating the hallways for a fun filled day. I am hoping to teach my students that spreading kindness and simple acts of giving can make a huge impact.
