My Students

Our students are returning to school after a very difficult year of distance learning, and unrest in their neighborhood. Additionally, their school was part of a redistricting plan called the CDD, in the case of our school, it was changed from a middle school to a grades 3 through 5 elementary school. We will have all new students as well as many new teachers both new to our school and new to the teaching profession. Our school has a history of being a very strongly supported school with a lot of family involvement. The students are engaged in learning and the teachers who work at our school are known to stay for many, many years.

My Project

The students at FCS are building a new community together. A Gaga Pit for recess not only helps this process of community building but also engages them in building their hand-eye coordination, team building, working together, being inclusive, strategy, agility and wellness through exercise. This will give them something positive to do during their recess time that will get them moving, interacting with each other and staff, taking turns, waiting patiently, cheering each other on, trying different tactics and moves.

Our partner K-2 school, has a Gaga Pit and the students, staff and families really enjoy it.

We would like FCS students to continue to benefit from their recreation through similar experiences as they move through their school journey.
