My Project

These are some things I think will make my classroom great for my first year of teaching drawing, painting and ceramics. My 130 students are learning how to draw, paint, and make things out of clay this year, and I hope to provide them with the best tools to do so. These students are creative, thoughtful, funny, and promising young leaders. With the linoleum cutters, and ink cartridges, I will be able to teach students about line, shape, and introduce them to the world of print making. These will capitalize on parts of tools I already have in the classroom that I am missing pieces for.

I am most passionate about showing students they can be creative, even when they do not feel that they are.

One of the major ways that I connect with students and help them to feel comfortable is through music. This is the same speaker that one of my collaborators has had for many years, and I hope to use it to remind students that they already have a connection to the art world through music for many years to come.
