My Students

My students are creative, caring, and eager to learn. Although my students come from different backgrounds, many of them face struggles stemming from institutional racism and poverty. The art room is a place for them to freely explore materials and ideas, express their autonomy, and have fun!

My Project

Our students are back in person this year and we've already had so much fun! The items listed are things we are always in need of: bulk watercolor paper, extra markers (kiddos just eat these up!), Clorox wipes to keep our space clean and safe, organizational bins to help me stay on top of materials, a new how to draw book to help our young artists gain confidence, and a set of animal toys to make observation drawing more exciting!

These items will help our young artists and our shared studio stay on a trajectory of success as the school year continues.
