Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a second-year teacher in my preschool classroom - we are housed in a mobile building and have the gift of a large space. However, I inherited outdated, broken, peeling, and well-loved dramatic play furniture and materials. I want to encourage my preschool students to play, imagine, explore, and expand their learning through beautiful, updated, and relevant materials.
Our curriculum includes time for open play to allow time for investigation of real-world, observable themes.
The greenhouse will allow us the flexibility to build a fire station, a mountain cabin, or even a school! The new kitchen set gives us the needed counter space for cooking, serving, or even delivering the weather report! Dramatic play gives them the space and the freedom to create and to build social skills, limited only by their imaginations!
