Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are special education students at Frederick Douglas Academy in Harlem, and we need your help. We are a community of learners identified as having learning disabilities, speech or language impairments, emotional disturbance, and ADHD. Because we are exceptional learners, we need your help building an exceptional classroom.

My Project

Ms. Dawes is a Special Education teacher at Frederick Douglass Academy who teaches Algebra I and Geomtetry. Many of the students struggle with math, and Ms. Dawes is dedicated to creating a classroom space that is safe and supportive of each learner's individual learning needs.

The materials requested will allow Ms. Dawes to create a classroom that meets the needs of her learners with exceptionalities.

The color printer will support Ms. Dawes in printing materials in color for her students who often require content and instruction to be highly visual. The chart paper and markers will enable students in Ms. Dawes' class to collaborate and learn from each other as well as share their knowledge. The ipad will be used to assign and monitor differentiated content materials assigned to students based on their learning preferences while also enabling Ms. Dawes to collect information about each individual students progress and performance without having to keep track of multiple papers.
