My Project
My students are such a big part of my world, and the time we spend together in the classroom each day is invaluable to me. I understand that a comfortable and conducive learning environment is a crucial step to creating an inclusive classroom community. As a first-year first grade teacher in an inclusive classroom, I would love nothing more than to be able to bring my students together throughout on the day on a carpet! But one small problem - we have no carpet.
The addition of a large carpet in my classroom would help enrich the educational experiences of my students in many ways.
There would be more room for group work and read alouds, more opportunities for community building activities, and additional space for my students with disabilities to learn in an up-close, hands-on way!
