My Students

Help me spend less time prepping and more time teaching so my students can learn in a hands-on way.

My classes consist of passionate 8th-grade special education students who are eager to learn math!

Some come from single parent homes or homes in which parents work more than one job. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.

My Project

My request is for a Cricut machine to use in my classroom for several purposes. The Cricut can be used to create individualized flashcards, writing prompts, bulletin boards, manipulatives, and creative extension projects. I would use the cartridge to print alphabet letters in a variety of sizes and materials. The population of students I am teaching this year varies from ESL, Special ed, and General ed students by having Cricut machine it would greatly decrease the amount of time I spend prepping and allow me to focus on teaching. My classroom also has a great area that can be featured as an interactive word wall. (Area is seen in picture!)
