My Project

The digital way has taken over so much of our lives, and is often the focus. The art supplies, printer ink, gong, and sensory tools I have selected are to give my students the opportunity to use their hands, hearts, and minds to create. We talk a lot about Social-Emotional Learning. Art, music and writing are ways to express emotions and to shift feelings.

Fleron is attributed to saying, “The creative adult is the child who has survived.” I hope to be a facilitator for keeping creativity alive and teach children how to have healthy emotions that will guide them throughout their lives.

NV State Standards to support:

1.ME.1.1 Recognize the relationship between emotions and actions. (Per NRS 389.520)

1.ME.1.2 Demonstrate how to express emotions in healthy ways.

(1)P.6 Draw using varied media, techniques, and processes.

(1)P.7d Apply painting techniques to produce different subjects and moods.

W.1.3 Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure.
