This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My young students are wonderfully talented with art on paper and in performance. They practice writing their letters and numbers each day. Therefore I want them to have a creative baking experience by writing letters and numbers on their food! It is an artistic endeavor that exemplifies our Home Economics and Visual Arts common core standards.

With these baking supplies, they can discover how to write and make designs on food.

Creating designs on food is a career oriented, educational experience. It could be a job, a future hobby, or their own business.

I am proud of each of my students because they work hard with their speech and language delays. They persist in learning more each day through writing, speaking and listening routines. They are doing the best they can by reading, writing and verbalizing numbers/letters sounds! With these baking supplies and food items, they can discover how making and baking food is a creative task and venture.
