My Students

A cold laminate floor is the last place you would want to be to get into a good book. Let's banish this place with a colorful rug, a couple of bean bag chairs and some fun books.

My students are wonderful kids who come from many different cultures.

Some are new to this country but are eager to learn our language and culture. Over half of my class qualifies for and receives free lunch. They come into my classroom every morning with a smile on their face and an eagerness to learn.

My Project

A nice, bright comfortable rug, two bean bag chairs along with some entertaining books are just what my kids need to inspire them to be life long readers. After sitting in their hard chairs all day, the choice of a couple of bean bag chairs and the rug would be just what the doctored ordered. The enjoyment of reading is a benefit they will appreciate many years later.

This project is very important to me because reading is a fundamental skill all kids need to master to be successful.

The rug, bean bag chairs, and books will go a long way in giving my kids a head start in becoming life long readers. These items will also be shared with many more new kids as they enter my classroom.
