My Project

Children with Autism often have difficulty identifying their emotions. This is why social-emotional learning is so important for our children. It teaches them ways to understand and manage their emotions.

I am requesting materials that will help me create a calm, cozy space in the classroom that will help my students self-regulate.

With materials such as a cozy rug, a weighted lap pad, and sensory toys, I can create an inviting space that will provide an opportunity to calm their bodies and cope with their feelings.

Students will have the opportunity to reset emotionally which will allow them to continue to learn.
