My Project

Having a classroom that every student is comfortable in is important to me as an inclusive educator. The following materials are requests from both my students and myself. As an inner-city public school teacher it is crucial to create a space in which each student can see themselves within the classroom. With your donations I will be able to provide more space for the books I have purchased for my students. I want to add so many more enriching texts for my students to read but I do not have the proper bookshelf space for them. Additionally, I am requesting a couple of book-themed plushies. My students love having reading buddies, and I would love to provide more ways for them to connect with reading. I have also requested a rug to place in my library to provide a more comfortable place for them to sit and read. The rug we currently use is too small for our library space. Lastly, I have requested lights to provide more calm lighting for our space, including an LED light-up digital clock to help us stay on schedule.

My students deserve these materials as they are extremely hard workers who should have a space where they can feel at home.

We spend around 6 hours of our day inside our classroom, and I would love to make it as comforting and loving as possible.
