Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Two weeks prior to school starting, my classroom flooded. My students and I have been in a temporary small room to start the year while our cozy classroom gets re-done. While this was not the way I had planned to start the school year, my wonderful class has embraced the change.

Due to the flooding, some classroom items were ruined and needed to be replaced.

I am asking for two new bulletin boards and a classroom rug to get us started. I plan to use the new bulletin boards to hang up reference charts, student work, and any thing that will help students learn. We are planning to use the rug for reading time, flexible seating options, and a place to go when they need a break.

While this school year has been off to a rocky start, I am happy to say we will be moving back into our classroom within the next few weeks. Having a new rug and classroom bulletin boards will be extremely beneficial to the students and their learning environment. Having additional bulletin boards to hang up references will benefit students' learning by allowing them access to visuals and a place for them to see their hard work displayed. A classroom rug will benefit students' learning by allowing them to feel comfortable and allow for flexible seating.
