This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am an Elementary School Counselor, in the Lower East Side Manhattan. My students are diverse in both ethnic backgrounds and life experiences. My students are hardworking, thoughtful, and inspiring. This pandemic has been difficult for many. They are learning to cope with disappointment, loneliness, and anxiety at a younger and younger age.

Students LOVE coming to the Counseling Office to learn valuable lessons to help promote both social-emotional and academic support, increase attendance rates and increase the mental health of our school community to have a great back to school this year.

My Project

This printer will make our daily activities fun and more visually appealing. The ability to print goes beyond just capturing reading benefits. The ability to use color in lesson plans, images, and text can help improve retention, create specific learning moods, and help students process different pieces of information. This color printer ink will enable me to create posters, various visual aids, charts, activities, and assignments in color for my students.

This printer will allow me to create attractive, engaging materials and games for them to practice the skills I am teaching them.
