This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This is the first year of our House System and the entire school has been so supportive and accepting. Looking ahead to the end of the school year, we would like for each of our elder House members to carry a piece of Castle Bellevue with them. Each house has its own color and we want each elder to walk away with a House Stole and Cord. I am requesting your help to honor these wonderful human beings with cords and stoles in the colors of our Castle and their Houses.
One Castle, One Family!
That is who we are. Having each person presented with a stole in their house color with the house name on it, will be a keepsake that they can build on. Our hope is that when they graduate from high school they will wear their House Stole and Cords with pride and honor. Once a dragon, Always a dragon!
Attending a STEM/STEAM school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science, financial literacy, and social-emotional learning (SEL with Second Step program) gives our students the chance to explore who they are. Our urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast/lunch for every student, and Title I services to economically-disadvantaged boys and girls. Our inclusive class serves military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, special education students, and tech-savvy students.
