My Project

I am requesting materials to help with 3 areas in which COVID-19 has impacted my classroom. First, I want to increase the amount of student engagement in my classroom with the use of cooperative learning. Next, I want to support social-emotional learning in my classroom. Finally, there is still a need to maintain a clean and healthy classroom.

Cooperative learning has a positive impact on student growth.

It is important for even the youngest learners to work and learn cooperatively. This is especially important after experiencing the learning of a distanced classroom. The cooperative learning books and floor markers will help me implement new strategies to engage students and get them working together.

Social-emotional learning is also crucial to the classroom after COVID-19. I will use the posters, weighted lap pads, and other sensory items to create a "Calm Down Corner" in my classroom. This will be a place for students to take a break and get back to a mindset of learning.

It is also necessary for teachers to continue to maintain a clean and healthy classroom. While I have all of the supplies to keep things sanitized, the vacuum will help me get the classroom cleaned quickly and efficiently each day.
