Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love taking our classroom out of doors whenever possible. They are the hardest workers I’ve taught. They deserve a cool place to sit during educational activites that are housed in the recreation yard. The umbrellas that I am requesting would help provide that much needed space.

Please help me breathe new life into our recreation area.

We have tables that are in desperate need of cleaning and painting. We also need to replace umbrellas that have suffered from many years of wear and tear. Basically, the umbrellas are the only thing that protect the students from the direct sunlight that floods this space on a daily basis. The umbrellas would definitely block harmful rays from the sun. They would also provide a beautiful, more inviting space for students to participate in a class, read a book, or catch up with friends during social emotional learning.

My goals for this project are to clean and restore the existing tables before this spring. I will need the umbrellas to protect the students from the direct sunlight during classes and other activities. My students are incredibly understanding and grateful for the resources we provide them with. They make do with the resources the school has. I believe that we can do a little better.
