My Students

This year I have the pleasure of working with first grade. This is the year that they really become readers. We are doing a lot of phonics, fluency and comprehension work.

We want to add to our comfy reading area.

I want my students to grab a book and relax on our new rug, as well as a bean bag or a comfy chair. A new rug is on its way, now we need to add to the comfy reading area.

My Project

My students need a comfy place to read and explore books of different genres. They are beginning to read more and more books each week.

During center time, I would love it if they can go into a cozy corner of the room to read and relax.

My students like to partner read and help each other work through a new book. They would be happy to have new, comfortable chairs.

I know that these chairs will be a welcome change from the hard chairs that they usually sit on. Going to the reading area will feel special for them.
