Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a first year teacher, I am doing everything in my power to make my classroom as safe and comfortable as possible for my students. The cold, hard tile floors are quite the opposite feel that I am going for. I would love for the kids to have a comfortable learning space where they feel safe.

I will be a first year teacher in an ICT classroom and I am doing my best in making the room a safe and fun environment for learning.

A cold, dirty, tile floor is no place to learn. The meeting area is where a great deal of our time is spent daily, so I would like the kids to be as comfortable as possible. They will have enough to digest in the meeting area without adding being uncomfortable to the mix. They are a great group of kids who mostly reside in East Harlem. The school is considered high poverty, but it's a wonderfully close knit family atmosphere where the children's needs are put first. I am lucky to be a part of such a place.

My Project

I am requesting 1 rug for my classroom. I understand times are difficult and people are holding onto each dime they have. Anything that is donated will not go unnoticed. Everyday this year, and years to come, my students will have a safe and comfortable place to learn and grow and that will be because of you. I look forward to sending pictures of readers workshop and Morning meeting with the kids enjoying the rug. Thanks so much!!

This project is really important to me because I think every kid should have the opportunity to learn and thrive in an atmosphere that is comfortable, safe, and fun.

As a first year teacher I would love to have the physical room set up for success!
