My Project

Being a newer teacher in the district, and still new to teaching in general, I don’t have a lot to make my room, feel encouraging and comfortable. I’d love to be able to transfer my room into a place that my students feel happy to be in. I want to be able to give them a safe environment, where they are encouraged to learn about education and about themselves.

I want to add some different lighting options to my room so that we can take away those oppressive fluorescent lights and make the students feel comfortable and welcome.

Adding color to break from the monotony of neutral colors in the room can also make them feel that they’re in a space that they can explore.

They also need just basic items, more pencils, folders, and cleaning supplies to make sure that they have everything that they need to stay organized and to make sure that all the germs that we inevitably come in contact with being in a building with so many adolescence, can be cleaned and sanitized

Being able to give my students this for this year, but also having a basis for all of my other years to be able to grow from is important to me. I hope that others will feel the way that I do and want to help create a space for them. That is colorful, comfortable, and encouraging.
