Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are intelligent and vibrant young people eager to learn about the world around them! They have supportive parents from various backgrounds that support them in their education. New York City is a place where all of this is possible.

As a special education teacher, I serve students with varying levels of ability.

I look forward to helping them all reach their full potential this year and see that anything is possible. The variation in their abilities provides a unique classroom environment for us all. They work together to build each other up and build on each others strengths.

They all bring something unique and special to our classroom environment and team. My students beam with pride when they are able to share things they have learned with others. Being able to watch them grow, even just over the past month, has been extremely rewarding.

My Project

Included in this project is a new set of ink for our printer. Ink is expensive and a hard to come by resource but is vital to my students success. I can print out worksheets, study materials, homework as well as pictures and projects to enhance student learning.

The math books included in this project would bring the concepts we are learning about to life!

The books would bring a level of excitement that is hard to come by in middle school math. They will bring real world examples helping my students grasp some of the more abstract concepts regarding fractions and percents.

Flexible seating is such a helpful learning tool, especially in special education classrooms. The Big Joe bean bag couch would bring a level of comfort to my classroom that will help students feel excited to learn.
