Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school in the Bronx is a Title I, 100% free lunch school.

A large percentage of our students are Special Needs, English as a Second Language, and/or living in Temporary Housing.

They love new experiences, being creative, and working together. My students are eager to try new things and if I get excited about something they will get excited too. School is a great time for them to really be kids and to not worry about what is going on in the outside world and the difficulties they may have.

My Project

In my dance class students remove their shoes and sometimes their socks to dance and move freely and comfortably. It is important that I keep the dance room, especially the floor, nice and clean.

I would use these items to make sure that my dance room is ready, fresh, and clean for all of my students.

Many students come to class with no socks or socks that they are embarrassed to be seen in. Having nice new socks for the students to wear in class and even to take home will be a great way to begin the new year. These supplies would allow my classes to have a fresh and clean start to the new school year.
