This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an energetic and joyful group of first graders who love coming to school each day. They’re still learning important hygiene habits, and as we move through the school year, germs tend to spread quickly.

I am requesting cleaning supplies such as Lysol disinfectant spray, PURELL multi-surface disinfectant, Clorox disinfecting wipes, baby wipes, tissues, and Swiffer dusters.

These materials will allow me to disinfect shared surfaces, wipe down desks, and clean high-touch areas to minimize the spread of illnesses. I’m also requesting washable steam mop pads to maintain our classroom floors.

Recently, we’ve had cases of pink eye and common colds spread through our class. I clean after school daily to keep the space as safe and sanitized as possible, but supplies go fast. These materials will help me continue to maintain a clean classroom environment, reduce student absences, and support my students’ health so they can focus on learning and growing.
