Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a fifth grade teacher in a large, pre-K-8 school. Most if not all of my students come from lower income families. Many of these children face poverty, violence, and obscenities of life on a daily basis; that are well beyond what most of us could imagine.

My students need cleaning supplies to learn keeping a clean classroom is keeping it a healthy classroom.

Help my students stay healthy by learning how to care for our classroom environment.

Keeping our classroom clean not only keeps us healthy but it also teaches my students how to care for their living space. Thus teaching them how to care for their home living space.

My Project

I will teach students to clean the top of their desks with wipes while maintaining the inside with organization. Students will learn to keeps areas clean and organized so that it makes for an easier, healthier environment for us all.

Students will also maintain healthy hygiene routines by using hand sanitizer after using the restrooms and/or sneezing.

Teaching students to have clean environments is helping them to create routines that will carry over into their home life. Therefore, creating healthier environments all around and creating healthier students all around.

I will teach students to use brooms, dustpans, and other cleaning utensils. Giving students jobs to create routines for learning. Giving students the opportunity to focus on classwork rather than being home sick.
