it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My goal for the 2019-2020 school year is to build a strong reading community within my classroom. I believe reading is one of life's greatest joys and a necessary skill for life-long learning. With this project, I hope to expand our classroom library with high-interest, diverse reading materials that will entice students to self-select books they will love.
I want our room to be a "classroom within a library" - an inviting space for students to discover books that will inspire them to keep reading!
I am hopeful that instilling a love of reading within my students will help them to continue on a path of academic excellence that will lead them to bright futures.
My Project
These books will help to transform our classroom into its own library! All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind and after asking them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books they find interesting which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and reading at home.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that they will see themselves in which will build connections and create conversations.
Having these books will entice students to self-select books that promote independent reading. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students build life-long reading habits.
