This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I've been a teacher for many years, and I've found that my students just aren't reading like they once did. These books will offer my students quick and convenient access to a variety of texts and multi-cultural books that help my students to acquire a love of reading. My classroom library will be a place that my students can find books that interest them and help them build the confidence and drive to really enjoy reading independently!
Every student should be offered a book that speaks to the heart.
All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have used data to determine which genre of text to get as well as student feedback to decide which texts our students find interesting. I have chosen some of these books based on reading level and others to help our English language learners and struggling readers.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of interesting books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. The best way to get better at reading is to read. Please help our students to grow through reading!
