Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students have not been in the classroom for 1.5 years due to COVID shutdowns. Many of them are behind in their reading levels, as well as social emotional learning and needs. My students live in a title 1, low income area and were impacted hard by COVID. Whether loss of home, or loved ones, or just the emotional toll learning from home has had on them. I would like to create a classroom library that acts as a sanctuary and therapy center for what they have gone through. Some of our greatest healing comes from books. Help my students find relief in the lessons in our classroom library.
