Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in an elementary school in the Bronx with a large immigrant population. Many of my students just moved to America and have limited proficiency in English and their first language. My students come from all around the world and bring with them their rich cultural backgrounds. Our school system is very foreign to them and these students need your support. Please help my students receive the tools they need to be successful in our classroom and our country.

My Project

Help wanted! The English language learners and students with disabilities in my classroom need some extra support as developing readers and writers.

My students are an interesting, lovable, sometimes silly, witty bunch of third graders who are eager to reach their reading goals this year and beyond.

In a heavily populated New York inner-city school, my students don't always get the individual and differentiated attention that they deserve. Each of my students has a love of learning and a willingness to work, but my classroom lacks the materials to address all of their needs.

We live in the digital age. Technology is a huge part of everyday life, and this should be reflected in education. Our classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard, but we need a new classroom MacBook laptop to use the SmartBoard's most awesome features.

Our class is part of a pilot program that is bringing technology to elementary schools in new ways.

My students are exceptional kids. Each and every one of them is an individual with unique talents and aspirations. They are always so excited about using new technology. We are ready to use these materials in the classroom to research, read, and learn together.
