Help me give my students a HAPPY R U G! My students will use this rug to have most of our read aloud, mathematical hands on lessons, and sometimes a much needed dance break!
We are in the heart of the Blackfeet Nation a half hour away from Glacier national Park. I will have 18 beautiful Native American students who will learn to read, count, add, subtract and more. This cute carpet will give all of us a place to sit and enjoy our. daily read aloud, a hands on mathematical lessons, games, brain breaks, and will help give us a comfort home feeling. We are hoping we will have this carpet in our classroom so we don’t have to sit on the cold hard, dust floor. In the winter in Montana it can get down to 50 below zero and we still are scheduled to attend school, because of our community. Most students on the Reservation live in poverty, Glacier County is one of the highest poverty rate in Montana. Most of our students depend on public school for warm meals, a safe place and sometimes clothing. We also have a low rate in graduates in my cart I also have pencils, stickers, small toys, and sentence strips. The pencils, stickers and small toys will help motivate my students to keep up the amazing work. It’s honestly the small things that keep our students going.
