My Students

My students come from a lively neighborhood rich in traditions. Family and friends gather on the streets to say hello, shop, and socialize. In our classroom, we would hear the laughter of kids playing in the playground and the smell of the food coming from the local restaurants. Little did we know that over a month ago that would be the last time my students and I would experience our normal routine.

The coronavirus has affected my 32 students and me in so many ways.

We no longer get to see each other in person. No more hugs, no more laughter, no more asking to sharpen their pencils. The streets, playgrounds, and classrooms are empty. Our new normal is greeting each other on remote learning. Computers have become the number one resource my kiddos need to continue our remote education in their homes. Unfortunately, while NYC has been giving out tablets many of them are broken, or there just isn't enough for all the children in their homes. Help me help bring a sense of community back to each student and all families using reliable technology!

My Project

Now more than ever reliable technology is needed! My kiddos are in need of quality Chrombooks to help them continue what is our "new normal". Many of my students come from homes with multiple children. There is just not enough technology in their homes that can help each child log onto their distance learning. Many of my students face challenges where their laptops are old or outdated. Making their online assignments for school a challenge to complete.

A quality Chromebook would help my students successfully be able to access our Google Classroom!

Their remote learning could now be easily accessible with a few clicks! This would create much ease in a home knowing they have reliable technology where their children are able to get the education they deserve. Help my kiddos stay connected to their Google Classroom and have continued success during this trying time!
