My Project

"What's in the eggs?" "What does that machine do?" "When will the eggs hatch?" "How much longer?" "A Chick Hatched Today!" "Can I pet it?" "How do we take care of it?" These are some of the questions and excitement that my students will feel as we hatch eggs in our classroom to learn about the life cycle of a chicken. Students need to be exposed to as many hands-on opportunities as they can so they can be engaged and motivated to ask questions and learn more.

I want students to get to explore, experiment, and be real scientists!

With this project, students will get to learn about eggs and the life cycle of a chicken, and they will get to take their learning to the next level by putting what they learn into action! Students will takes notes, record data, and make observations as they watch the incubator each day and check that the temperature and humidity are at the levels they should be at for optimal growth. They will get the experience of caring for a living thing to make sure its needs are met as they watch the growth and development of the chicks.
