My Students

When my students go on break for Christmas, the very last lab will be to silver test tubes to make ornaments. This Redox reaction will have my students and their families curious. What could be more fun?

My students are fun, full of school spirit, and proud to live in West Virginia-they all know all of the lyrics to "Country Road".

My students live in a rural district--not a wealthy school, but one that holds fast to tradition. They love to do labs in Chemistry class! The students thrive on hands-on experiences.

My Project

Redox Chemistry is one of the toughest topics to teach. Having my kids silver test tubes to make ornaments will bring a series of chemical reactions to life. My students will see vividly just what Redox is! The kit provides students step by step instructions to do a tricky lab. Redox chemistry is not trivial science. Seeing a process which is so dramatic sparks questions and promotes a deeper understanding of the underlying chemistry--while doing a cool lab!

My students and our class budget get stretched pretty thin.

Every hands-on experience counts. When the classes can see for them-selves a reaction, rather than reading about it in a text book, the chemistry sticks with them. Your donations will allow my classes to make silver test tubes that bring Redox to life.
