My Students

Virginia Wolf aspired to have a room of her own, in my classroom I wish my children all had a chair of their own. Proper seating allows them to be comfortable and focus on the point of instruction. With a chair of their own my students will flourish and grow.

I have the best students in the world!

The are 3 to 5 years old and have mild to moderate special needs ranging from autism, to language delays and developmental delays. My class is very diverse and we are located at a Title 1 school. We have a language based program that includes a lot dynamic moments on the rug. We cook, we experiment, we listen to amazing stories and act them out. In order for my kids to fully access these activities they need proper seating.

My Project

My students have a lot of energy. Many of them struggle with sensory integration and spatial awareness. The cube chairs that I am requesting are ideal because they provide the children with a defined safe space on a large rug in a larger classroom. If the children feel fidgety they can touch the sides of the chair rather than a child sitting next them who might not appreciate it. These chairs provide the children a socially acceptable outlet for their wiggles, while allowing them to focus on the point of instruction.

I have been blown away by the amazing resources being used by teachers on this site.

I would love to secure basic fundamental items that students could benefit from for years to come. Please help unlock comfort, confidence and growth opportunities for my pre-k students by helping to provide them a chair of their own.
