Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a kindergarten teacher in a large elementary school. Each day my class gathers together in our meeting area to start our day together. The school provided me with rubber matting for the children to sit on. I have scrubbed it many times but it will not come clean. It is also falling apart. The children at times prefer to sit on the floor instead of the matting. The floor is too cold, especially in the winter. I would love to have a nice clean carpet in the classroom. I want to create an area where the children want to go to. A carpet would be comfortable for the children to sit on and would keep their bottoms warm. The carpet would be placed in our reading center so that it could be used for our meeting area as well as an inviting place for the children to curl up with a good book. It would also provide a great place for the children to engage in math and reading center activities. This new carpet will create an area where the children want to be. Won't you please help?
