My Students

This year I will be teaching a self contained class for the first time and I could not be more excited! While I haven't had the opportunity to meet all of my students yet, some students I know from the previous year! They are kind, caring, funny, and each learn in their own unique way!

With the previous year and a half being as challenging as it was, it's my goal to create a comfortable classroom environment that we can all use as a calm space to learn, grow, and explore.

With your help and funding I hope to be able to achieve my goal!

My Project

Although we hope that every day is a calm and positive one for our students, many students come in with worries from home, anxieties about school, and other personal trials and tribulations.

Creating a safe space where students are able to process their feelings is at the forefront of creating a positive learning environment.

If my students are overwhelmed they are unable to learn. I hope by providing them with some sensory toys they will be able to use them to explore and effectively find new ways to "calm down" until we are able to reflect on how we are feeling.
