This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have all seen the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our students need a space in every classroom to retreat to when they're feeling upset, sad, or angry. With the help of these calming materials, like sensory bottles, we can build a calming and sensory space in all classrooms in our building. This calming and sensory space provides children with the ability to learn to self regulate and coping skills that they will carry with themselves into adulthood. Calm and regulated students learn better and are more likely to have better attendance, test scores, and graduate high school!
