My Project

The materials we are requesting will make a huge impact in the lives of our students as we focus on improving mental health. We will be placing these items in a corner in our health classroom to give a place for our students to focus on mental health. The bean bag chairs will provide comfortable seating in this area. The journals will be given to students to cultivate a sense of self-awareness, improve gratitude, and reflect. The Kindle Fire will allow students to sign into our Virtual Calmness Room to view calming videos, listen to calming sounds/music, read, and engage in mindful activities. The headphones will provide a more "private" feel to those engaged in listening activities.

The donations to this project will help build a "Calmness Corner" where our students can take a break from daily stress and relax.

By building this corner, we will be teaching our students important relaxation techniques which will improve their mental health and help them become more resilient and prepared for life. The items will help show our students how to unwind and take care of themselves so that they are better able to serve others.
