My Students

My special needs students are very busy first, second and third graders. They are beginning to learn basic academics. (reading, writing, spelling, and math) My students require a great deal of one on one attention with a focus on functional skills lessons, reading and math which will help them develop to their fullest potential when they become independent adults.

My students have a variety of learning styles and need to be inspired.

It is important for my students to have an opportunity to discover things that are meaningful and relevant to life. My classroom staff works to instill the love for learning. Children are our future, and each one has the potential to bring something special to the world.

My Project

We need equipment for our new classroom. We will be using the Chromebooks to implement the iReady instructional Reading and Math program within our classroom. The program is a supplemental educational program. It is proven to work. The program keeps good data. It will prepare students for and actively monitors each diagnostic lesson, encourages focus, and closely monitors rushing and completion. Students are scheduled to have access to 45 minutes of instruction per subject. We can monitor student progress and respond by checking usage, and lessons passed. The program allows for differentiated small group instruction on a weekly basis. Students can set clear goals and monitor their own growth and progress.
